SIRLOIN TIPS 
2 tbsp. shortening
2 lb. beef sirloin tips (cubed)
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can beef consomme
1/2 c. red burgundy wine
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 clove garlic (minced)
1/4 tsp. onion salt
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. water
4 c. hot cooked rice or noodles

Brown cubed meat in oil. Stir in wine and seasonings. Heat to boiling. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. Blend cornstarch and water. Stir into meat mixture. Stir constantly until thickened. Season to taste. Serve over rice or noodles.
