APPLE FRITTERS 
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
12 oz. Miller High Life beer
2 lb. Golden Delicious or other firm apples
Vegetable oil
Confectioners sugar

Sift flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg into a bowl. Add half the beer and beat with a whisk until smooth, then stir in remaining beer. Set better aside for 1 hour.

Peel and core apples and slice into 1/4 inch rings. Pour enough oil into deep frying pan so it comes about 3 inches up the sides and heat to 350 degrees. Dip several rings in the batter, coat well and slide into hot oil. Fry only as many rings as can easily fit in the pan or the temperature will drop. When the fritters are well browned on one side, turn over and brown on the other side. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towel. Dust with confectioners sugar or ice cream and serve immediately. Serves 6.
