"MY MOMS" BANANA CAKE 
1/2 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
1 c. ripe banana pulp
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. + 2 tbsp. sour cream (buttermilk)
Pinch of salt
1 c. chopped walnuts

Cream shortening, add sugar and cream again until fluffy; add bananas and eggs. Add sifted dry ingredients and add alternately with buttermilk, nuts and vanilla last. Bake 30 minutes in 350 degree oven.
