TORTILLA CHIP CASSEROLE | |
1 med. onion, finely chopped 2 tbsp. butter 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 (4 oz.) can green chilies 1 tsp. salt 1/2 lb. Monterey Jack cheese (sliced or grated) 2-3 c. cooked chicken or ground beef 8 oz. tortilla chips 1 c. sour cream 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese Preheat oven 350 degrees. Saute onion in butter, add tomato sauce, chilies and salt. Simmer uncovered 10 minutes. Layer in casserole dish: tortilla chips, Jack cheese, meat, sauce. Repeat layers. Bake 20 minutes. Remove from oven. Spread with sour cream and grated Cheddar cheese. Broil until cheese melts. |
