PUMPKIN BREAD 
2/3 c. shortening
2 2/3 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 (16 oz.) can pumpkin
2/3 c. water
3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
2/3 c. chopped nuts
2/3 c. raisins

Grease and flour well two 9x5x3-inch loaf pans. Cream shortening and sugar. Mix in eggs, pumpkin and water. Measure and sift dry ingredients together. Blend into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts and raisins. Bake in a 350°F oven for 65 to 70 minutes. Bake until bread tests clean with wooden toothpick.

Makes 2 loaves.
