TACOS 
1 lg. onion
1 clove garlic
3 tbsp. shortening
1 lb. ground round
1 tbsp. salt
2 tbsp. chili powder
Chili sauce
1/2 tsp. cumin
Shortening
12 tortillas (corn)
1 sm. heart of lettuce
1 med. onion
1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese

Chop onion, mash garlic and fry in shortening until brown. Stir in beef, salt, chili powder and brown. Separately cook tortillas until limp. Fold in half and brown underside.

At serving time, shred lettuce, onion and cheese. Spoon the beef into the tortilla. Top with cheese, onion and finish with a tablespoon of chili sauce.
