1 1/2 lbs. pork tenderloin SAUCE: 3 tbsp. brown sugar 1/3 c. water 1/4 c. honey 1 tbsp. white wine or gin 1 tbsp. red food coloring 1 tbsp. soy sauce 1/2 tsp. monosodium glutamate 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. Chinese 5 spice 1 star anise Rub sugar on pork. Combine remainder of sauce ingredients and pour over pork. Marinate 24 hours. Place baking rack in pan with a small amount of water in the bottom. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Turn; baste and bake additional 30 minutes. Slice in 1/4 inch slices and serve cold or hot as main dish or appetizer. Serves 6. |
