PRUNE CAKE WITH ICING 
1 c. prunes
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. Wesson oil
3 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. walnuts, chopped

Cook prunes for 5 minutes; chop. Mix sugar and oil; add eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together; add alternately with buttermilk to sugar mixture. Add nuts and prunes. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake for 1 hour at 325 degrees. Remove from pan.

ICING:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 stick butter
1 tsp. syrup
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Combine all ingredients in saucepan. Boil over medium heat for 10-12 minutes. Cool. Pour over warm cake.
