LAYERED CHEESE AND BEEF
CASSEROLE
 
4 c. medium egg noodles
1 lb. ground beef
3/4 c. chopped onions
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. small curd cottage cheese
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/3 c. thinly sliced green onions
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
2/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese (reserve 2 tbsp. for topping)

Cook noodles as directed. Drain.

In medium skillet, brown ground beef and onions, drain. Add tomato sauce, salt, garlic powder, and pepper, simmer 15 minutes.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. In medium bowl, combine cottage cheese, cream cheese, onion, green pepper and Parmesan cheese, mix well. In 13x9 inch baking dish, layer half each of noodles, meat sauce and cheese mixture, repeat layers. Sprinkle reserved Parmesan cheese over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes until thoroughly heated. 8 servings.
