OLD FASHIONED SMOTHERED CHICKEN 
Put a large lump butter in a baking dish. Flour chicken as for frying and place in dish with butter and lay 4 or 5 pieces bacon over it. Add cold water to almost cover, place in a slow oven until done. Takes about 3 hours. Will not brown. Is covered with good gravy.
