YANKEE FRIED GREEN TOMATOES 
4 med. size (firm but not hard) green tomatoes

Mix together 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup self rising cornmeal (white or yellow). Add:

1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. seasoned salt

Dip sliced tomatoes, (1/4 inch or less) in buttermilk. Dip in dry mixture and deep fry in bacon drippings or oil. Turn once, drain on paper towel and serve.
