KOLACKY COOKIES 
1 c. butter
8 oz. cream cheese
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
Cherry (or any other fruit) preserves

Cream butter and cream cheese with vanilla extract until fluffy. Blend flour and salt; add to creamed mixture. Chill dough thoroughly.

Roll out dough 1/4 inch thick on floured surface. Cut with 2 inch round cutter. Transfer to ungreased cookie sheet. Make a small indentation in center of each round. Bake first 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes until lightly browned, then fill indentation with fruit preserves.
