PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE 
1 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 can crushed pineapple, drained
Maraschino cherry halves
1 pkg. Duncan Hines yellow cake mix

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in a 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly in pan. Drain fruit. Spoon pineapple evenly over brown sugar. Place cherries on top of pineapple. Mix cake as directed on the label. Do not substitute fruit juice for water. Beat as directed. Pour batter over fruit. Bake at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes until tests done with a toothpick. Let stand 5 minutes for topping to begin to set. Then turn upside down onto a large platter or a cookie sheet. (You can substitute peach slices, if you desire - drained.)
