2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix in order given. Last add 1 cup boiling water.
