BREAD & BUTTER PICKLES 
4 qt. sliced med. size cucumbers
4 med. onions, sliced
1 c. canning salt
1 qt. vinegar (5% acidity)
4 c. sugar
2 tsp. celery seed
1/4 c. mustard seed

Combine salt with enough water to cover the sliced cucumbers and onions; allow to stand for 3 hours. Drain well.
