BARBECUED LIMA BEANS 
1 lb. dried lima beans
4 c. water
1j/4 c. chopped onion
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. catsup
2/3 c. dark corn syrup
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. liquid smoke
5 drops Tabasco sauce
6 bacon slices

Wash beans and soak in water overnight in large saucepan or Dutch oven. Do not drain. Add onion; bring to boil and simmer until beans are almost tender, about 30 minutes. Combine all other ingredients except bacon; stir into beans and mix well.

Spoon mixture into 2-quart greased casserole. Put bacon strips on top; cover and bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour or until beans are tender. Yield: 8-10 servings.
