CHOCOLATE BUTTONS 
1/4 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 oz. (3 sq.) unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
2 c. Pillsbury's Best all-purpose or unbleached flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Powdered sugar
7 1/4 oz. to 9 oz. pkg. non-pareils topped chocolate wafers

In large bowl, combine butter, sugar, chocolate and vanilla; blend well. Beat in eggs. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Chill dough 30 minutes. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Shape dough into 1 inch balls; roll in powdered sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until edges are set. Remove from oven; immediately press chocolate wafers in center of each cookie. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet. Cool completely. 54 cookies.

Tips:

If using Pillsbury's Best self-rising flour, omit baking powder and salt.

Milk chocolate kisses or chocolate stars may be substituted for wafers.
