RHUBARB CAKE | |
1 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. shortening 1 egg 1 c. sour milk 1 c. sour milk = 1 tbsp. lemon juice or vinegar plus sweet milk to make 1 cup 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 c. rhubarb, cubed 1/2 c. chopped nuts Cream sugar and shortening, add eggs, add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle top with 1/2 cup sugar, combined with 1/2 tsp. cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. |
