CHERRY BARS 
1 chocolate fudge cake mix with pudding in the mix
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. almond extract
1 (21 oz.) cherry pie filling

Pour cake mix in mixing bowl. Add cherries, eggs and flavoring. Blend by hand until mixed. Pour into 10 x 15 inch greased and floured jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-27 minutes. Can be baked in 9 x 13 inch pan for 30-35 minutes, for more cake-like results.

FROSTING FOR CHERRY BARS:

1 c. sugar
1/3 c. milk
1/2 stick butter
6 oz. chocolate chips

Pour milk in saucepan - add sugar and butter. Bring to boil, STIRRING CONSTANTLY, boil 1 minute - remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips - pour over warm cake. Cool, cut into squares - makes 48.
