BREAD & BUTTER PICKLES 
12-14 medium cucumbers sliced
6 onions sliced
1/2 cup salt
5 c. sugar
3 c. vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
2 tbsp. mustard seeds

Soak 7 lb. medium sliced cucumbers in 3 gallon jar with 2 gallons cold water and 2 c. lime for 24 hours. Drain and wash well. Soak in fresh cold water for 3 hours.

Boil pickles in syrup 35 minutes from time they start to boil. Can and seal.

Makes 13-14 pints. I use a large Revere pan instead of a jar.
