TRADITIONAL APPLE PIE
9 " pie plate

6 c. sliced apples (Red Gravenstein or Northern Spy are best)
3/4 c. sugar
Dash salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. flour (adjust for juicy apples or dry apples)
2 tbsp. butter

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Place all ingredients except butter in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly and pour into a prepared shell. Cut butter into small pieces and dot the top of the apple mixture. Cover with top crust. Cut 3 slits to allow steam to escape. Brush crust with milk for a nice brown pie.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes until top crust is golden brown.
