MICROWAVE GERMAN POTATO SALAD | |
5 med. potatoes 3/4 c. onion 2 tsp. salt Dash of pepper 1/3 c. vinegar 6 slices bacon 2 tbsp. flour 1/2 tsp. celery seed 3/4 c. water Microwave potatoes for 12 to 15 minutes on high. Peel and cut into small chunks. Set aside. Microwave bacon for 6 minutes on high. Remove bacon, leave drippings in pan. Place onion in bacon drippings and microwave for 3 to 4 minutes. Blend in flour, sugar, salt, celery seed and pepper. Cook on high for 1 minute or until bubbly. Stir in water and vinegar. Heat to boiling (about 2 minutes), stirring frequently. Let boil for 1 to 2 minutes or until mixture thickens. Stir bacon and potatoes into hot mixture, stirring to coat potatoes. Microwave on high 3 to 4 minutes or until hot. Let stand covered 4 to 5 minutes before serving. For best results, remember to turn while cooking. |
