LARD CAN STEW 
Sweet corn
Potatoes
Cabbage
Smoked sausage

Line bottom of your lard can with shucks from sweet corn. Make layers of: sweet corn, scrubbed potatoes, cabbage sectioned so that the core is intact (in quarters or eights depending on cabbage size), smoked sausage.

Add water to the level of the potatoes. Set over open fire covered. When you see steam coming out from cover, then let cook for 45 minutes. Serves 18-20 people.
