HAMBURGER-VEGETABLE CHOWDER | |
1 lb. ground beef 3 tbsp. oil 2 c. canned tomatoes 2 med. size carrots, diced 1/2 c. diced celery 1 med. onion, chopped 2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. rice or barley 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 1/2 qts. water 2 c. cubed potatoes Brown meat in oil, add all ingredients except the potatoes in large kettle and simmer slowly for 1 hour. Add potatoes and continue simmering for 1 hour stirring a few times. |
