CHOCOLATE SAUCE FOR ICE CREAM,
ETC.
 
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1 chocolate sq. or 6 tbsp. cocoa
1/8 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
4 1/2 tbsp. butter

Mix cornstarch, sugar, cocoa or chocolate and salt. Then add boiling water and mix. Cook until it thickens. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla.
