HAM BISCUITS 
5 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. shortening
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1/4 c. sugar
2 c. buttermilk

Sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water and add to buttermilk. Stir into dry ingredients with spoon or mix with hands. Roll out 1/2" thick and cut into biscuits no larger than 2". Place in greased pan. Let rise in warm place 1 hour, cook at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Split hot biscuits and place small thin slice of ham in each. Makes 5 to 6 dozen. Biscuits may be made the day before, storing in refrigerator before cooking.
