1 c. milk, scalded 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 pkg. yeast 3 beaten eggs 4 1/2 c. flour Combine milk, butter, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast which has been dissolved in some warm water. Add beaten eggs. Then add flour. Mix to smooth soft dough (will be quite sticky). Knead lightly on floured surface until pliable but not stiff. Place dough in greased bowl. Let rise until double in bulk. Divide in thirds. Roll each third on floured surface into circle like pie rust. Brush with melted butter. Cut each circle of third into 12 triangle shapes. Roll each triangle from outside toward point. Arrange on greased baking pan. Brush with melted butter. Let rise until lighter than buns. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Brush with melted butter. Makes 3 dozen. |
