ENGLISH TOFFEE 
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 tbsp. water
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
4 7/8 oz. hershey bars
3/4 c. pecans (finely chopped)

Combine sugar, butter and water in heavy saucepan, cook to 300 degrees. Stir constantly to prevent burning. Add vanilla and pour into buttered cookie sheet. Lay the chocolate bars on top and spread them evenly as they melt. Sprinkle pecans over chocolate. Cool thoroughly and break into pieces.
