SORGHUM MOLASSES CAKE 
1 egg
1 c. molasses
1/3 c. oil
2 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. boiling water
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. raisins
1/2 c. sugar

Beat the egg. Stir in molasses, sugar, and boiling water. Sift together the dry ingredients and add to first mixture, reserving 1/2 cup of flour to mix with raisins. Stir in the raisins and oil. Pour in 9 x 13 inch pan. Baked for 35 minutes.

SAUCE FOR CAKE:

1 1/2 c. water
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 stick of butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix in saucepan and boil until it thickens.
