2 c. self rising flour 2 tbsp. sugar 3 tbsp. chilled butter 1/2 c. raisins 3/4 c. (about) milk Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Lightly grease baking sheet. Combine flour and sugar in medium bowl. Add butter and cut in until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in raisins. Mix in enough milk to form soft dough. Gently knead on lightly floured surface until smooth, about 20 times. Roll dough out to thickness of 3/4 inch. Cut into 2 or 3-inch rounds using floured cutter. Place on prepared baking sheet. Bake until golden brown, about 10 minutes. Cool slightly on rack. These can be prepared 1 day ahead. Store airtight. Reheat before serving. |
