FRESH STRAWBERRY PIE 
1 stick melted butter
1 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar

FRESH GLAZE:

3 qts. washed & cut strawberries
1 1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. cold water
1/4 c. cornstarch
3/4 c. cold water
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. lemon juice

Mix ingredients for pie shell, press dough into 9 inch pie pan. Bake at 400 degrees until brown, 8 to 10 minutes.

To Prepare Glaze: Bring sugar and 1/2 cup water to boil. Dissolve 1/4 cup cornstarch in 3/4 cup water. Add to sugar water. Cook until mixture is clear, stirring constantly. Add salt and juice, stir. Let cool. Add a few drops of red food color to make glaze pink. Add fresh cut strawberries, stirring gently. Empty into pie shell. Chill. Garnish with whipped cream, optional.
