After the rhubarb is cooked and strained add ... juice and lemon juice. Stir. Add gingerale just before serving. Optional - add red food coloring.

Simmer rhubarb in water until tender, strain. Add grated rind of 1 lemon or orange and 3/4 to 1 cup sugar; stir. Cool and chill before serving.
