FLANNEL CAKES 
1 qt. milk
3 tbsp. yeast (1/2 cake)
1 tbsp. melted butter
2 c. sifted flour
2 eggs, separated
1 tsp. salt

Combine yeast, milk, salt and flour. Cover and let set overnight. In morning add beaten egg white and beaten yolks and butter. May add 1 tablespoon molasses at this point for browner cakes. Cook on hot greased griddle or frying pan turning once as for pancakes.
