FRIED RICE | |
1 lb. bacon 1 lg. onion, chopped 1 lg. green pepper, chopped 4 or 5 lg. carrots 1/2 lg. or 1 sm. green cabbage, cut 1/4 head red cabbage, cut 1 can drained bean sprouts Salt & pepper Brown bacon (cut bite size pieces). When done, remove from skillet, pour most grease into bowl and save, more will be used. Add onions to grease and saute. Add pepper, carrots, green and red cabbage, bean sprouts to skillet. Top with already cooked bacon. Pour a little grease (maybe 1/4 cup) over top. Turn stove to low temperature and simmer until all vegetables are done. (With lid on skillet, so vegetables will more or less steam until done.) While vegetables are cooking prepare about 2 cups minute rice. Put rice on plate when done, top with skillet mixture and sprinkle well with soy sauce. Serve with buttered bread and ice tea. |
