NEVER FAIL BISCUITS 
2 1/2 C flour
5 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
5 tbsp shortening
1 C buttermilk

Sift together into bowl the flour, baking powder, salt and soda. Cut in the 5 Tbsp shortening. Add buttermilk, gradually blending with fork. Knead a few times, roll out and cut into desired shape.

Put on greased pan and bake at 450°FF for 12-15 minutes.

Can use powdered buttermilk. Sift appropriate amount of powder, according to box to equal 1 cup of liquid buttermilk, with other dry ingredients. Add water as directed.
