CARAMEL LAYER SQUARE 
1 (14 oz.) pkg. Lite caramels
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
3/4 c. butter, melted
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 c. nuts
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Cook over low heat, stirring until caramels are melted. Keep warm. Combine rest of ingredients except chips. Stir by hand until dough holds together. Press 1/2 into pan. Bake 6 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked crust. Spread caramel over all. Crumble reserved dough over all. Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool.

Makes 3 dozen bars.
