CARAMEL LAYERED CHOCOLATE SQUARES | |
1 German chocolate cake mix 3/4 c. butter, melted 1/3 c. evaporated milk 1 c. chopped nuts 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips 1/3 c. evaporated milk 1 pkg. Kraft caramels (33) In heavy pot combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk, cook over low heat until melted. Put aside. Grease and flour a 13 x 9 inch pan. Combine cake mix and butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and nuts. Mix until dough sticks together. Press half of dough into pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Take out and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Pour caramel over dough and chips. Crumble remaining dough over top, return to oven and cook for 15 to 18 minutes. Cool slightly and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Cut into bars. |
