POUND CAKE 
3 sticks butter
2 1/4 c. superfine sugar
2 1/4 c. cake flour
6 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

ICING: (Optional):

1 tsp. lemon flavoring
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. butter

Cream butter and sugar. Add 6 eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add flour and flavoring. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

For the icing, mix together and spread on cake while hot for a glaze.
