STRAWBERRY SHORTCUT CAKE 
1 c. miniature marshmallows
2 c. frozen strawberries, thawed
1 (3 oz.) strawberry Jello

CAKE:

2 1/4 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. solid shortening
3 eggs
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Grease bottom of 9x13 inch baking pan; sprinkle marshmallows evenly over bottom. Mix strawberries with dry gelatin in bowl; set aside.

Combine all cake ingredients in mixing bowl; blend with mixer on low speed, beat 3 minutes at medium speed, pour cake mixture over marshmallows in baking pan; spoon strawberry mixture evenly over batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes. May be served with ice cream or topping.
