3 c. cake flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 1/3 c. sugar
4 tbsp. unsalted butter, cut into 1/2 inch thick pats
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
4 egg whites
Grated zest of 1 lemon

Mix 3 cups of flour with 1 teaspoon unsalted butter. Mix all the ingredients together. Heat in oven (350 degrees). Keep in oven for 30 minutes. When done, let it sit out for half an hour.

HONEY GLAZE:

1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. honey
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract

Mix all ingredients together. When mixed, pour gently over sides of cake.
