QUICK SOUR CREAM DOUGH | |
2 pkg. active dry yeast 3/4 c. buttermilk 5 1/2 c. flour 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. warm water 3/4 c. sour cream 1/2 c. shortening 2 tsp. baking powder In large mixer bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add buttermilk, sour cream, 2 1/2 cups flour, the shortening, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Blend 1/2 minute on low speed, scraping bowl constantly then beat 2 minutes on medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in remaining flour. Turn dough onto well floured board; knead 5 minutes. Shape immediately. Let rise 1 hour before baking. Heat oven to 375 degrees and bake 25-30 minutes. |
