For very clear ice cubes, use boiled water in the ice trays Fancy ice cubes: 1. Add a little green coloring in the water before freezing, for cool-looking effect. 2. Freeze cubes with curls of lemon or orange peel, maraschino cherries with stems in tact, or sprigs or mint in the ice cubes. 3. Freeze left over fruit juices or drinks in the cube trays to serve in iced tea or other fruit beverages. 4. Ice floats for holiday punches are made by freezing delicate flowers in various shaped containers. In making punches or fruit drinks, one may boil thee rinds and use th juice remaining; it adds a nice flavor. |
