DOUBLE LAYER P - NUT BUTTER
COOKIES
 
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. creamy peanut butter
1/4 c. light corn syrup
1 tbsp. milk

Combine flour, sugar, soda and salt. Cut in Crisco, peanut butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Blend in syrup and milk. Shape in roll 2 inches in diameter. Chill. Slice 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. Place half slices on ungreased cookie sheet. Spread each with 1/2 teaspoon peanut butter. Cover with remaining slices; seal edges with fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes or until brown. Makes 2 dozen.
