ORANGE BUTTER FROSTING 
6 tbsp. butter
4 1/2 to 4 3/4 c. sifted powdered sugar
1/4 c. orange juice
1 tbsp. grated orange rind
1 1/2 tbsp. vanilla

In a small mixer bowl, beat butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add about half the powdered sugar, beating well. Beat in the orange juice, orange rind, and vanilla. Gradually add the remaining sugar, then additional juice, if necessary, to make frosting of spreading consistency.

Frosts tops and sides of two 8 or 9 inch layers. May be decorated with mandarin orange slices, drained or jellied fruit slices.
