MOCK STRAWBERRY JAM 
6 c. ripe figs, slightly mashed
3 c. sugar
2 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry flavored gelatin

Combine all ingredients in large saucepan. Cook on moderate heat, stirring constantly, until thick, about 45 minutes or more. Pour into sterilized jars and seal immediately. Yield: 4-5 pints.
