CABBAGE AU GRATIN | |
4 c. shredded cabbage 2 tbsp. melted butter 1 1/2 tbsp. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. milk 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese 1/2 can Durkee fried onions Boil cabbage 5 minutes. Drain. Combine melted butter, flour and salt in a saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until bubbly. Gradually add milk. Cook until thickened. Put 1 layer of cabbage in casserole, then 1 layer of cheese, another layer of cabbage, then cheese. Pour sauce over the top. Crumble onions on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. |
