TOMATO DUMPLINGS 
1 qt. tomatoes
1 2/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. lard
1 c. milk
1 c. self-rising flour
1 tbsp. butter

In a medium sized pan, add tomatoes and sugar; add butter. Let boil 5 minutes. In another bowl, stir together milk, flour and lard until mixed well. Roll out on a floured surface and cut into small dumplings. Drop the dumplings into boiling tomatoes. Let cook about 5 minutes.
