HOMEMADE APPLE PIE 
2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter or shortening
2 beaten egg yolks

Oven at 350 degrees. Combine dry ingredients for crust. Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in egg yolks. Divide dough in half. Press 1/2 into pie plate for crust. Add filling.

FILLING:

4 c. diced apples
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon

Crumble remaining crust on top. Brush with slightly beaten egg whites (optional). Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake 40-50 minutes at 350 degrees.
