GRAPEFRUIT APPETIZER | |
4 grapefruit, fresh 2 env. Knox unflavored gelatin 2 c. juice from grapefruit Sugar to taste Clean and use only fruit with good appearance. Cut in half, scoop out pulp carefully as the shells are to be used in this recipe. Extract juice of the grapefruit to yield 2 cups, strained. Add sugar to taste. Heat up 1 cup of the juice and dissolve the gelatin in it. Add remaining juice and mix well. Pour the flavored gelatin into the grapefruit shells up to the rim and refrigerate to set the gelatin. There may be more shells than needed. To serve, cut with a sharp knife into sections and place on appetizer tray. Variation: Oranges may be used in place of grapefruit. Follow the same method. |
