DEVIL'S FOOD FILLED COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. cocoa
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk

In large bowl cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture. Drop by tablespoonful onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes; cool.

CREAM FILLING:

1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. marshmallow cream
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. powdered sugar

In small bowl cream butter and shortening until fluffy. Gradually add marshmallow cream; blend in vanilla and sugar. Beat to spreading consistency. Spread between two cookies.
